What I Did:
I went to lunch with another woman business owner.
I started a new group in LinkedIn called World Wise Women.
Being a Boomer I meet a lot of women who are either retired, widowed or on their own. I want to create a place for working women who still have a lot to give and want to make a difference in our world.
How I Did It:
I have been thinking about this for many years. Some of my business associates are the first women firefighters, first female lifeguards, and my sister was interviewed on national TV for being the first two women police patrol car.
Advice
- There are no manuals on how to be the first in your family to start a woman owned business. I sit in my office today and think what do I want to do next. The thoughts do not come from others, they come from you so "get on with it".
What were your hopes and goals? Were they met?
I wanted to have it all in my life - I wanted a satisfying career, a husband who loved me and great life adventures. Most of my goals have been met and the world has changed so rapidly I have new goals which are to pass on to others what I have learned.
