What I Did:

It has been my privilege for over 25 years to have brought the stories of Famous Women to audiences throughout the country.

I became an actor because I thought I might have an opportunity to change people's lives through my art, and I have performed in many plays over the years which have given me great satisfaction, but it wasn't until I combined my passion for history and my training that I came to believe that I--one person-- could enhance the field of Women's History. I could take the stories of people I admired and make those stories available to all kinds of people. My work is important and I'm grateful.

How I Did It:

I have been an actor and a writer for many years. I love research. Discovering facts and presenting them in entertaining and truthful ways has been very satisfying and I have never had a writer's block!

Advice

  • This I firmly believe: Follow your passion and share your passion with others.

What were your hopes and goals? Were they met?

As a girl, my interests were always geared toward the arts, something no one in my family had pursued. I couldn't help following this path, no matter how often I was told that it was a dead end career. I'm fortunate that I've been able to make a life in the arts and to share my work with others.
