She sided with Anne Hutchinson, was banished from Massachusetts, became a Quaker, and on returning to Boston, was arrested under a new law outlawing Quakers. Banished, she returned, was arrested, was banished again, was arrested, banished yet again, she again returned, and was hanged for the crime of being a Quaker on June 1, 1660.
