- Feminists protested women's magazines at the Ladies' Home Journal sit-in.
- The nationwide Women's Strike for Equality featured creative protests from women in cities across the United States.
- Among the feminist books published were Sexual Politics by Kate Millett and the anthology Sisterhood is Powerful edited by Robin Morgan.
- The Congress to Unite Women was held in New York City, including the Lavender Menace action.
- Feminists protested in the U.S. Senate, standing up for the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA).
- The first Women's Studies departments began at San Diego State University and Cornell.
