The Revolution, begun in 1868, was edited by Susan B. Anthony. She used the publication to promote not only woman suffrage, but also the rights of working women including their right to join trade unions. The Revolution was seen as the publication representing the National Woman Suffrage Association, while the rival American Woman Suffrage Association had Woman's Journal as its chief publication.
