Blanche Ames

Blanche Ames was an artist whose drawings accompanied her husband's orchidology research. She also was actively involved as an innovative engineer and builder of her home and farm, and invented an early anti-aircraft device during World War II. She was a woman's rights advocate, suffrage worker, and birth control activist.
