Known for her portrayal of Mrs. Robinson in "The Graduate" and of Anne Sullivan Macy on Broadway and in film in "The Miracle Worker," Anne Bancroft was an award-winning actress who won an Oscar, an Emmy, and a Tony award.
June 28 - Brenda Howard
Brenda Howard was a gay activist who coordinated commemorative rallies one month and one year after the Stonewall Riots of 1969.
June 30 - Lillian Keil
Lillian Keil was an American flight nurse in the Army Air Corps -- later the Air Force -- in World War II and the Korean War. Her story was made into the 1954 movie, "Flight Nurse." She worked on planes evacuating wounded troops as they were transported to hospitals, on more than 425 missions.
