Debralee Scott starred in the 1970s send-up of stereotypes of women's lives, "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman." She played Mary's younger sister, Cathy.

April 5 - Dale Messick

Dale Messick was the syndicated comic strip artist who originated "Brenda Starr" in 1940, making her heroine a career woman -- a reporter who traveled widely and had glamorous adventures. Messick experienced early discrimination as a woman artist.

April 9 - Andrea Dworkin

Andrea Dworkin was known for her anti-rape and anti-pornography crusades and was a radical feminist often accused of being anti-male.
