Louisa May Alcott Portrait

Louisa May Alcott is best known as the author of the classic literature title, Little Women. Her father was the educational experimenter, Bronson Alcott, and her mother a relative of abolitionist Samuel May. She was a tutor to the daughter of Ralph Waldo Emerson and knew well most of those in the Transcendentalist circle in New England.
