Legends: Oprah Honored African American Women

Phylicia Rashad (Phylicia Ayers-Allen, 1948 - ), an actress, is best known for her long-running role of Clair Huxtable, the wife and mother on the situation comedy The Cosby Show. She has also starred on stage and screen in The Raisin in the Sun (2004 and 2008). Her sister is choreographer, dancer, director and producer Debbie Allen.
