French Dressing - 1894 Style

From a 19th century recipe for French dressing

Ingredients:

  • 1 saltspoon of salt
  • 1/2 saltspoon of white pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion juice
  • 1 Tablespoon vinegar
  • 3 Tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • parsley, optional for garnish

Preparation:

Mix all but the parsley in the order given, adding the oil slowly. When ready to serve your salad, mix it with the boiled dressing given below; arrange it, and garnish with parsley.
