From time to time, I run across web sites that are such high quality that I want to pass them along to the readers of this site. These sites are chosen for a combination of great content and great design -- and that indefinable extra that makes them easy to read.  As you can see, I don't select many sites for this honor.

Selections, 2002:

Museum of Menstruation and Women's Health
This web site on a topic often considered taboo is humorous and serious at the same time.  There's simply a huge amount of information on menstruation, tampons, and many other related topics.

Marian Anderson: A Life in Song
An online exhibition from the University of Pennsylvania's Annenberg Rare Book and Manuscript Library.  With portraits, audio and commentary, this site is based on the personal papers of Marian Anderson which were donated to the Annenberg Library after her death.  In addition to the museum exhibition feel of the commentary pages on this site, there's also an online index to over four thousand images and a browsable photograph section.  (More on Marian Anderson)

Amelia Earhart
The official Amelia Earhart web site, authorized by the Earhart estate. Includes information on how to legally use the name, likeness, signature or voice of Earhart in commercial contexts. (more on Amelia Earhart)
