Saint Térèse of Lisieux
(January 2, 1873 - September 30, 1897; canonized May 17, 1925)

Known also as Little Flower or the Little Flower of Jesus, this French Carmelite nun was declared a Doctor of the Church in 1997, the third woman to be so honored in the Roman Catholic Church.

Her writings often centered around themes of suffering, and she often used images of flowers and gardens.

(Sometimes written as St. Therese or St. Theresa.)
