I've picked a few of the growing number of books telling the story of women and girls in baseball: the stories of Jackie Mitchell and Alta Weiss (did you know they both played on otherwise-all-male teams?) as well as of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. Girls and boys will love the stories for their inspiration and action, and for the idea of overcoming odds to achieve goals and live a dream.
