Controversial reporter Helen Thomas has died at her home in Washington D.C., on June 20, 2013. She was the first woman to become a member of the White House Correspondents Association. She retired from her work with the UPI in 2000, and wrote a column for Hearst News Service until 2010, when she got into a controversy over statements she made about Israel.

It’s really too bad that she had to finish off what was an amazing career with such a thoughtless comment.
I am so sad to hear the NEWS of her passing. I am impressed constantly by the courage woman show in the workplace. No better way to set an example than in politics. An extraordinary woman and an AMAZING career. I want to have the job she had when I grow up!!!
