Josephine Goldmark is one of those women who should be better known. She's sometimes known within legal circles for her work on the "Brandeis Brief" -- a document important enough in legal history that one source book accidentally referred to her as "Justice Goldmark." She's sometimes known within the field of labor history, for her contributions to protective labor legislation at a time when there were few protections for workers. She also served on the commission investigating the Triangle Factory Fire, and was long associated with Florence Kelley and the National Consumers League.
