Born May 24, 1819, as the only child of the fourth son of King George III, Victoria became Britain's Queen in 1837. She married her cousin, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, in 1840, and their first child arrived just nine months later. They had eight children before Albert's untimely death in 1860.
