What an awful way to die! I can’t imagine how people used to watch such horror. I do appreciate, however, your play on words — “who lost her head”.

I always end up ruminating about elegance gone awry when I think about Marie Antoinette.
I’ve always felt sorry for Marie Antoinette. She wasn’t very prepared to be queen of France during the time of revolutionary turmoil.
And what a lovely head it was to lose!
The guillotine seems so brutal and barbaric, but supposedly was state of the art humane execution for the times.
