Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire

The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire is a key event in labor history and women's history. The factory was a typical shop where immigrant women and girls could find work in New York, and when so many died, the city -- and nation -- were willing to establish more safety and fire standards to protect others working in similar conditions.
