The US presidential election of 2008 is over, and Barack Obama has won, and is beginning to make the transition to taking office. In early 2008, it wasn't a sure thing that Obama would win either the nomination or the election. Hillary Clinton made a historical run for the presidential nomination, winning more votes than any of the other women who had run for president in the past.
