What a contrast between this voter’s fancy hat and Hillary Clinton’s orange pantsuit last night…and yet, they’re linked together by the simple ballot this woman is so proud to turn in.
The styles may change considerably, but the underlying issue of freedom to vote, freedom to have a say in the course of our country as well as in our own individual lives, is always fresh.
Viva the Suffragettes!! Through all the ages, genders, ethnicity, and culture!
For young women like myself, it’s hard to believe that not so long ago women could not vote. Last night, as Clinton gave her speech at the convention, I realized how close we actually came to having a woman candidate for president. My, how far we’ve come!
Proud to be a woman no matter what I wear.
And to think I’ve never voted. I’m just so untrusting of the electoral college , not to mention politicain promises. But I do love having the right to should I choose to do so!
Happy WW Jone
Although I’m not very enthusiastic about this coming election, I’ll keep those courageous women in mind and vote.
