Ida B. Wells-Barnett

Ida B. Wells-Barnett, an African American muckraking journalist and activist for racial justice, was a key organizer and lecturer in the early campaigns against lynching. She left Memphis under threat of death, and spent most of the rest of her life working on racial justice issues in Chicago, while raising a family.
