Jone's Women's History BlogUS House Asks Japanese Government Apology for World War II Sex SlaveryToday, the US House of Representatives passed the resolution, introduced in March, asking the Japanese government to officially apologize to the women who were forced to serve as sex slaves to the Japanese Army during World War II. Japanese officials repeat that there have been apologies; however, these have been individual apologies from leaders, and many of the surviving women want the Japanese government itself to accept full responsibility.
