Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire

It took only a few minutes to start, and within half an hour, 146 people were dead, almost all young immigrant women factory workers. On the upper floors of a New York building, above the reach of the fire hoses, many factory workers at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory had to make a choice: jump or burn.
